Oxen Ministries serve Russia
and the Central Asian Republics through ORTA, the Open Russian
Theological Academy, which is based in Vladivostok.
The specific objectives of Oxen Ministries in Russia and Central Asia
1. To encourage the establishment of nationally run TEE programmes and facilitate the translations of a core TEE curriculum into the appropriate languages.
2. To ensure that the indigenous work eventually becomes self-financing and independent of the need for Western resources.
3. To develop TEE workshop materials for tutors, tutor-trainers, translators and course writers
that can be copied and repeated across the Republics and autonomous regions.
4. To work alongside and through existing church
and mission networks across the denominations in order to identify appropriate bases that could serve as regional resource
centres, using advanced communication technology where appropriate.
5. To continue to assist TEE development for the emerging churches of Central
Asia by seeking out appropriate source material for cultural adaptation.
· A mission-minded church membership across the Christian denominations
that can effectively live out Christian principles within its sphere of influence in the family, community and workplace.
· Indigenous churches that are able to develop and nurture local leadership and ministries independent of
external resources.
MATERIAL
AID
Although Oxen is not a material aid ministry per se , we frequently come across situations where even relatively small gifts could make an immense difference. Oxen do therefore carry a “Material Aid”
account that serves as a repository for those churches or individuals who wish us to place financial gifts accordingly .
